After a busy Saturday at the the EM region youth event, some very enthusiastic club fencers decided to brave the hail storms and make the 400 + mile round trip to Somerset to boost their LPJS rankings.

In the Under 11 Girls event, a repeat of the EM event final occurred with both Maisie McCormack and Eleanor Taylor fighting through to the final, however with a very different result, with Ellie winning out 10-4 to guarantee being ranked no.1 in the LJPS rankings for 2013 with a perfect 100 points ranking with 4 event wins, with 2 events still remaining in 2013.

In the Under 15 Girls Amelia McCormack added to her Canterbury LPJS event win with her second LPJS title of the season which should boost her LPJS ranking into the top 5.

In the Under 13 Girls event Niamh Noble reached the last 8 before losing out to CLFS fencer (where OPS coach Chris used to coach). This result will keep Niamh around 4th or 5th on the LPJS rankings which is really good going.

Well fought to all of you and I hope you slept well on the way home and have really thanked your parents for the amount of time they have spent driving you all around the county this weekend. They deserve a glass of wine (or maybe a bottle or two).
