How will be course be structured –
The course is designed to develop skills for the start of the season and to sharpen fencers up for events in September.
Each day will include warm up, footwork and blade skills, as well as tactic sessions and sparring (including team fencing).
Day 1 will focus more on attack techniques, with day 2 more on defence and day 3 a combination of the two, so ideally attending all 3 days would give most benefit, however single day attendance is allowed.
A 15 minute 1 to 1 lesson is planned for all fencers on each day of attendance.
What kit will be available –
The camp will have a set of scoring equipment to every 2 fencers, so when required everyone will be able to fence on scoring equipment at the same time.
Accommodation –
The camp is a non-residential course and those attending will need to travel to the camp each day or arrange their own accommodation with suitable supervision.
The area around Peterborough has amazing places to stay and visit, so would give parents a great opportunity to visit the local historical towns of Stamford, Oundle and lots of beautiful villages in the area. There is so much to do, I am sure 3 days would be filled very easily.
Food & Drink-
Those attending the camp will need to bring their own food and drink for lunch and breaks. We will arrange for a pizza delivery on Monday evening between the end of the camp session and the OPS club session in the evening.
What you would need to bring to the camp-
Full fencing kit, including breeches. 800N plastrons are required.
Suitable fitness kit and trainers for both fencing and outside activities.
Refund Policy-
Refunds can be made up to 1 month prior to the training camp, subject to a £10.00 administration charge.
