Development Team Event – Initial Entry Close – 20th May
| Elite Epee will be looking to run a series of team events over the year, using a rating method to equalise the level of fencers on teams, to hopefully create close matches to create pressure in as many matches as possible to help team match practice.
Entries can be made as complete teams of 3 fencers (4 with reserve), or you can enter individually and we will put teams together from those may not have sufficient fencers in their club for a club, so giving wider team practice opportunity. Every fencer will be rated depending on ability on a rough guide as below. Fencers who are not regularly competing on the Open circuit may have rating adjusted to reflect their ability –
Ratings can change through the event at the organiser’s discretion to enable close matches. 4 rating is for really new beginners or special situations. Each bout in a match will start with the fencer with the lower rating getting the bonus of the difference of ratings. For example a 3 rated fencer vs a 0 rated fencer will start with 3 hits added to the match score, or a 3 rated vs 1 rated a 2 hit bonus. Format of event –12 teams (possible 16 if there is enough interest) Poules of 4 followed by Direct Elimination for all places – expected 6/7 team matches Entries can be made for complete club teams, or as individuals who we can combine together at closing date to complete teams.
