Northamptonshire County Senior Champs

Senior County Champions are Amelia McCormack and Chris Howser (6th in row). Also great fencing from Nigel Middleton 5th and Idris Hillier 7th in his first senior event outing. All our other less experienced fencers did well also, with Paul Chenary, having only started fencing a few months age, winning 4 out of 6 fights in the second round of poules, a great achievement.

Whilst this epee event was taking place, Will Ferguson was trying out foil, and was the top under 12 fencer and 3rd placed overall, at this event which included a range of under 10, under, 12 , under 14 and under 16 fencers. Really good going for his first fun foray into another weapon.

Eastern Region Epoil Championships

Amazing fencing by our youngest fencers in this event catering for fencers in year 1 to 4 at school.

EEJS Grand Final and Elite Epee Mens Summer Open

More great results for club fencers with Rachael Lever turning the table on Henrietee Hadaline who beat her at the EYCs and winning the final by a clear margin. The result was followed up with Ellie Taylor 3rd and Maisie McCormack 6th n the same event. Daisy Reeves Turner fought well to secure 7th place in the Under 11 Girls event.

The real surprise of the day was in the Senior Mens Summer Open with club coach beating 2014 British Champion David Gregory (currently ranked 15th in GBR) 15-13, Paul Sanchez-Lethem (3rd on British Rankings) 15-12 and Matt Henderson (7th on GB Rankings) on his way to the semi final of this high ranking event, losing out to former World Under 20 Champions, Phil Marsh who ended up winning the event. Thanks for all the support to our fencers at the event.
