British Youth Championships Gold

British Veteran Age-group Epee
Club Coach, Chris Howser won the British Veteran Age-group Epee championships for the Over 40 category, winning 100% of his matches in a massive poule unique. This secures Chris’s Qualification to the European Veteran Team championships in Holland in May.

Under 24 European Pentathlon Championships
Jess Varley wins European Bronze medals in both Ladies Team and mixed reay team at the under 24 European Pentathlon Championships. Also Maisie McCormack and Rachael Lever qualify to represent GBR at Cadet European Circuit (under 17), and Amelia McCormack qualifies for Under 20 (Junior) GB squad for Under 20 World Cup events.. Well done to all of them..

Only a couple of medals at this year’s event. Daniel Carey-Evans wins Silver in the Under 12 Boys Epee event and Rachale Lever in 7th won a bronze for making the final tableux in the Under 16 Sabre. Some other strong performances, but sadly missing out on medals detailed on facebook page.

British School Team Championships
With the event at Millfield School this year, it was deemed too far to travel for many of our school teams, however the Prince William School team of Ellie Tinsley, Maisie McCormack and Rachael Lever just missed out on a clean sweep of weapons in the year 9/10 girls events winning the Foil and Sabre events and coming 2nd in the Epee. Well done to the team.

Pentathlon World Championship
Junior selections for the Pentathlon World Championship (Under 20), have been made and OPS fencer Jess Varley has been selected as part of the GB team. Good luck to Jess at the event in Cairo next week.

Amelia McCormack becomes the first OPS Fencers to be selected for GBR representation at Under 20 (Junior) level for Epee World Cups. Really well done and good luck at the Internationals.
